The Great River Regional Waste Authority, an equal opportunity employer, seeks to employ an Equipment Operator to work at both our Ft Madison and Keokuk locations.
Under the supervision of the Transfer Station and Landfill Supervisor, the Operator maintains all site facilities, loads all transfer semis with waste and recyclables, operates and maintains all onsite equipment, answers phones, greets customers, operates electronic truck scale, inspects incoming waste loads, directs customers to appropriate unloading locations, maintains cash drawer, and completes daily reports.
Work requires excellent interpersonal skills, knowledge of heavy equipment operations and maintenance, highly developed and effective communication skills. Knowledge of basic data entry and computer skills are required, and to maintain a valid driver’s license.
An example of a qualified candidate for this position would be an individual with a good driving record, a team player who is punctual and adheres to the schedule provided by GRRWA, knowledge of and demonstrated ability to maintain and operate heavy equipment.
This position also requires the ability to occasionally lift 20 to 50 pounds. Employment is contingent upon satisfactorily completing background checks, physical fitness exams, and drug screening.
