The landfill in Fort Madison, and the Transfer Station in Keokuk accept all non-hazardous solid waste for proper disposal from local residents, general contractors and local businesses.
Construction and Demolition Waste at Keokuk Transfer Station
Construction and Demolition waste is accepted at the Keokuk transfer station under the following conditions. No material over 8 feet in length. All material must be broken down to individual pieces. (Boards cannot be connected) Whole building demolition projects, concrete, and excavation spoils must go to the Landfill in Ft Madison.
Tarp Policy
All loads entering and leaving this facility need to be tarped or secured to stop litter from leaving the load. A $10.00 fee will be added to each load that is not secured or tarped. This fee will raise in $10.00 increments for each offense.
Commercial Hazardous Waste
Businesses that are approved as conditionally exempt small quantity generators may use our services for a minimal fee. To see if your business qualifies as a conditionally exempt small quantity generator, please call the Administrative offices located at the main facility.
Closing Time
Inbound traffic is cut off 30 minutes prior to closing. (3:30 M-F, 11:30 S) Please allow enough time to be unloaded and back through the gate before closing times. (4:00 M-F, and 12:00 S).
